Potential for Transmitting Viruses, RSPI Consider Mobile Use for Corona Patients
JAKARTA - Director of Medical, Nursing, and Support, RSPI Sulianti Saroso, Dyani Kusumowardhani said, his party was considering the use of mobile phones or cellphones for corona patients treated in isolation rooms.
According to Dyani, the consideration was made to anticipate the potential spread of the coronavirus through items used by patients including cell phones.
"Actually, this (cellphone) is also our consideration, whether or not it is allowed (use), if you see other items coming in besides the need for treatment, it adds to the risk of disease transmission," Dyani said, Tuesday (03/10/2020).
But now, it still gives permission for the fig of the patient to use the cell phone, because it is the only means for patients to connect or communicate with family.
Even so, it prohibits patients treated in the corona isolation room to use video call feature or video recording. But Dyani did not explain why the ban was carried out.
"(For mobile use is still permitted, but) video calls or recording is not permitted," She concluded.
